Deaf Aotearoa New Zealand


Deaf Aotearoa focuses on promoting Awareness of, Access to and Advancement of New Zealand Sign Language – to help strengthen the rights of Deaf people and give them the confidence to be an active part of society.
Deaf Aotearoa New Zealand in the Bay of Plenty area that based in Tauranga Office that covers from Waihi to the far Eastern Bay of Plenty, Opotiki, Whakatane, Kawerau and Rotorua. Available to all families / whanau, individuals or anyone living with or has an interest in Deaf people.
Deaf Aotearoa works with Deaf people, their families/ whanau, government agencies, businesses and other organisations to provide information, advice, access and resources for Deaf people to improve their quality of life. Promote support and strengthen the rights of Deaf people to access any national or local provider of services as any other New Zealander would be able to these may including legal advice, health & wellbeing programmes, education opportunities and employment issues to have their access communication with New Zealand Sign Language.
