The Disability Support Trust organised a ‘Networking for Inclusion’ Seminar on 6 June 2012, which brought together their 19 disability forum members, service organisations and disabled people from the local community. Hon. Simon Bridges, MP for Tauranga attended the Seminar and welcomed the chance to talk with attendees followed by a question and answer session. Around 15% of local people have a disability and face issues such as access to buildings, managing in their own home and identifying appropriate support. The meeting identified these issues and how organisations can best assist. The next networking meeting will take place in November 2012.
