Stewart Rehabilitation Services – Masterchef comes to Tauranga - READ MORE +

There were two teams competing over a 12 week period, the men and women competing against each other. The teams had to learn skills for budgeting, planning shopping and cooking. An outside judge came in each fortnight to judge and score the meals they had cooked. The final was a mystery box, but they were given a recipe to follow. The contestants were quite nervous on the final day but coped extremely well and both team’s scores were very close. Read More +

The Disability Support Trust organised a ‘Networking for Inclusion’ Seminar on 6 June 2012, which brought together their 19 disability forum members, service organisations and disabled people from the local community.  Hon. Simon Bridges, MP for Tauranga attended the Seminar and welcomed the chance to talk with attendees followed by a question and answer session.  Around 15% of local people have a disability and face issues such as access to buildings, managing in their own home and identifying appropriate support.  Read More +
